3 Reasons why you need an editor!

People often ask me why they need to hire a freelance editor to review a blog, book, play, dissertation, or article when they’ve got Grammarly and Word.doc Editor.
Good question. Three simple answers…
1 - I make sure your audience can understand what you're actually trying to say. Orgs and experts use jargon to convey expertise, but sometimes it comes out like gobbly goop. I get it - you’re overthinking it. You’ve stared at this thing for entirely too long. You’ve got a lot riding on this too.
Sometimes you need someone to help you simplify and economize on the audience’s limited attention span!
2 - Proofreading and copyediting are esp. useful for people who have stronger verbal skills than written ones. Whether English (Spanish or Portuguese) is your first or fifth language, sometimes people don't feel like they express themselves well in writing. So editors can help with grammar, wordiness, misplaced & dangling modifiers, and missing words (the funny thing is I also suffer with word slippage, so I'm really good at spotting it for others).
3 - Editors can help build your argument with ideas you didn't originally think of. We offer sources and counterarguments that you should address before taking your work primetime. The first person who reads your work should NOT be a decision-maker.
