Accepting 2023 Samples until June 26th.
The how, why, and wheretofores.
Being a writer has its perks! I’m a nomad in the truest sense of the word. I rarely am in one place long enough to become a resident expert. Still, I’m also there long enough to confuse people when I disappear for long stretches and reappear years later—like nothing happened.
Yup, call me traveling Black lady Houdini. You never know where I’ll pop up!
However, my rootlessness complicates my business when people want to send me PR items, books, samples, end-of-year recognition, gifts, and gags. I’ve already shared my thoughts on samples and pitches, and my stance hasn’t changed (so everyone is forewarned that I’m not a listicle kind of writer). But it’s always good to try things that are out of the norm and new to the U.S. market. So, what the hey?!
My worlds have conveniently collided. I’ll be in one place long enough to receive mail reliably, and I’m open to trying new things (except pork-derived products).
This window of time will only last until June 26th, when I’ll go back to packing light and traveling to lands yonder.
Here are the rules: Email me (nafeesah@nafeesahallen.com) if you have something you want me to try. I’ll send the address and receive the item if they are sent before June 26, 2023. If it comes after, expect it to be returned to sender.
Please don’t harass me about mentions and reviews b/c I’ve already shared my thoughts on samples and pitches. Note: I often plug items, services, or companies that I have never received samples from.
I will not return items after I’ve received them. If you want it back, don’t send it.
If I like what I got, I may (or may not) share it on social media or in future stories. No promises. Also, it’s best not to ask when or if I’ll share it, because I’ll just get annoyed and prob not do it—even if I originally wanted to.
Fair warning: If things go as planned, this will be my final window to receive U.S. mail until this time next year. So, it’s kinda now or never, friends.
