We have much to mourn, but I am claiming this month for celebration and trying to bring joy to this February. No matter where you find yourself, chances are you need a pick me up - a reason to believe in humanity, a reason to affirm why you belong.
That’s why I wrote my dual language children’s books that promote Black representation in bilingual books. I was tired of traveling the world looking for books to share with my kids and never finding one with kids that looked like them. Like any resourceful writer, I figured out how to create what I felt the market was missing.
